About Project
The Design Weekend in Kostroma was a collaborative art exhibition showcasing contemporary and minimalist design approaches. The exhibition emphasized clean lines, simplicity, and the ability for artwork to take center stage. This case study highlights how these design elements were incorporated to create an immersive and visually compelling experience for attendees.
The project involved blending modern aesthetics with functional design, providing a space for both emerging and established artists to showcase their work in an environment that highlights the elegance of minimalist design. Our approach was to create a design experience that was clean yet dynamic, drawing the viewer’s attention to the art itself, rather than the surroundings.

Project Goal
The aim was to design an exhibition that emphasized simplicity and allowed the artwork to take center stage. We wanted to create a space that encouraged deeper engagement with the art while maintaining a modern, clean atmosphere.
Create a minimalist design where art is the focal point.
Provide a seamless and immersive experience for the visitors.
Ensure the space feels open, spacious, and calm, promoting reflection and appreciation of the art.
Problem
The challenge with the existing exhibition space was that it did not fully embrace minimalist design principles. The surroundings distracted from the artwork, making it difficult for visitors to fully engage with the pieces on display. The goal was to create an environment where the art could truly shine.
The space lacked a cohesive minimalist aesthetic.
Design elements were overwhelming, taking attention away from the artwork.
Visitors found it hard to connect with the art due to the cluttered environment.

The Solution
To achieve this, we took a holistic approach that combined functional design with aesthetic minimalism.
Space Layout: Open and spacious layout that guided visitors through the exhibition with ease.
Color Palette: Neutral tones and geometric shapes helped maintain balance, making the artwork stand out.
Lighting: Strategic lighting was used to highlight artwork without overpowering the space.
Interactive Displays: Digital elements were introduced to provide context and deeper understanding.
